When I began my spiritual journey, it felt like standing at the edge of a vast ocean, filled with infinite possibilities. Immersed in teachings, stories, songs, prayer, and poetry, I felt a tug within, like a tide pulling me towards something profound. It was as if a magnetic force was gently guiding me toward my purpose, my passion, my calling.
Among the many voices I resonate with is that of Rumi, the 13th-century Persian poet and Sufi mystic. His teachings on love, compassion, and the interconnectedness of all existence struck a deep chord within me. One of his quotes, in particular, stood out:
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strong pull of what you really Love.”
Initially, I found myself puzzled by its meaning. Could I truly follow my heart’s desires without fear of going astray? In today’s world, it’s easy to get swept away by the currents of expectation, comparison, and fear. It was during moments of meditation that clarity began to emerge. Amidst the chaos of daily life, meditation became my sanctuary, allowing me to quiet the noise and listen to the whispers of my heart.
With consistent practice, I learned to observe my thoughts without judgment, clearing the path for my true desires to surface. It was then I began to understand the significance of Rumi’s words. The pull toward what I truly loved became a guiding light, leading me toward fulfillment and purpose.
Trusting my inner compass became my most cherished skill, guiding me through life’s twists and turns. As I continue on this journey, I’ve realized that regardless of the challenges we may face, following our passions leads to a life of meaning and joy.
So, if you ever feel lost along the way, just close your eyes, take a deep breath, and remember Rumi’s timeless words. “Let yourself be silently drawn by the strong pull of what you really love.” Trust me, it’s a journey worth embarking on.
Listening with your heart, what is it you Love? What brings you alive in your life?
