The Path of Living Awake
A Modern, Lived Exploration of the Eightfold Path

Life moves quickly.
Many of us feel a quiet pull to slow down—
to be more present, more connected, more fully alive within our own lives.
The Path of Living Awake is an invitation to practice together.
Rooted in mindful meditation and ancient wisdom, this intimate small-group journey offers simple, lived practices that nurture presence, compassion, and clarity in everyday life.
This is not about becoming someone different.
It is about meeting yourself—and life as it is—with greater awareness, kindness, and care.

The Journey: Eight Weeks, Eight Doorways
Over eight weeks, we explore the Eightfold Path—
not as abstract philosophy, but as lived doorways into presence.
Weeks 1–2: Wisdom
Gently transforming the way we see and meet life,
and cultivating the foundations of right view and right intention.
Weeks 3–5: Ethics & Embodiment
Bringing awareness into the way we move through the world,
exploring speech, action, and livelihood as expressions of spiritual practice.
Weeks 6–8: Presence & Steadiness
Deepening awareness through wise effort, mindfulness, and concentration,
and learning to rest more fully in the simplicity of being.
Each week unfolds naturally from the last, while honoring a quiet truth:
real transformation happens through small, conscious acts, lived with sincerity over time.
Who This Is For
This course welcomes:
Those new to meditation who are seeking a grounded and supportive place to begin
Experienced practitioners ready to deepen and more fully integrate their practice into daily life
Spiritually oriented seekers, healers, helpers, and caregivers who value embodiment over theory
Anyone who feels spiritually hungry, yet quietly alienated by dogma or rigid belief
Those who meditate but find it difficult to bring awareness into challenging conversations, relationships, or everyday decisions
Anyone drawn toward living with greater awareness, kindness, and integrity
No prior study is required.
Curiosity, sincerity, and a willingness to practice are more than enough.
The Spirit of the Path
The Eightfold Path is a timeless invitation to live with wisdom and compassion.
In this course, it is explored in a way that is both modern and deeply accessible—
not as a belief system or a form of spiritual perfection to achieve,
but as a living guide for meeting everyday life with greater awareness and care.
This journey is quietly shaped by the spirit of the Bodhisattva:
practicing presence not only for ourselves,
but for the benefit of all—
those we love, those we struggle with,
and the wider world we share.
As Ram Dass so simply expressed,
“We are all just walking each other home.”
Taught by Shey Khandro
For more than 35 years, Shey Khandro has walked intertwined paths as both artist and spiritual practitioner—including 15 years as a Tibetan Buddhist nun, training with masters in exile.
She is also a professional sculptor, painter, and stupa builder, and now serves as a compassionate guide for those longing to live with greater presence, clarity, and peace.
Students are often drawn to her warmth, grounded wisdom, and her gift for making ancient teachings feel accessible and alive. Many describe a sense of ease and quiet peace in her presence, and value the way she meets the world—with honesty, humility, gentle humor, and heart.
