The Path of Living Awake – A Modern, Lived Exploration of the Eightfold Path

The Path of Living Awake

A Modern, Lived Exploration of the Eightfold Path

Life Moves Fast

Many of us feel the pull to slow down —
to be more present, more connected, more alive.

The Path of Living Awake is an invitation to practice together.

Rooted in mindful meditation and ancient wisdom, this intimate small-group journey offers simple, lived practices that support presence, compassion, and clarity in everyday life.

This is not about becoming someone different.
It’s about meeting yourself — and life as it is — with more awareness and kindness.

What This Course Offers

This is a practice-based course, grounded in meditation and daily life.

Each session includes:

  • Guided meditation, led in a resonant, calming voice

  • Simple, accessible practices you can bring into your days

  • Reflection on how ancient wisdom lives in modern life

  • Connection with a small, committed community

The emphasis is on integration — bringing presence and compassion into real situations, choices, and relationships.

Between sessions, you’ll receive:

  • Reflection prompts and journaling exercises

  • Short guided meditations for daily practice

  • Suggested readings (optional)

  • Ongoing access to all recordings and materials

The Journey: Eight Weeks, Eight Doorways

Over eight weeks, we explore the Eightfold Path —
not as abstract concepts, but as doorways into presence.

Weeks 1–2: Wisdom

How we see and meet life
Cultivating right view and intention

Weeks 3–5: Ethics & Embodiment

How we move in the world
Exploring speech, action, and livelihood as spiritual practice

Weeks 6–8: Presence & Steadiness

Deepening awareness through gentle persistence, mindfulness, and concentration

Each week builds naturally on the last, while honoring that real transformation happens one small, conscious act at a time.

Who This Is For

This course welcomes:

  • People new to meditation who want a grounded place to begin

  • Experienced meditators ready to deepen and integrate their practice

  • Spiritually oriented seekers, healers, helpers, and caregivers who value embodiment over theory

  • Anyone feeling spiritually hungry but alienated by dogma

  • Those who meditate but struggle to bring awareness into difficult conversations, relationships, or daily decisions

  • Anyone drawn to living with more awareness, kindness, and integrity

No prior study is required.
Curiosity and a willingness to practice are enough.

The Spirit of the Path

The Eightfold Path is a timeless framework for living with wisdom and compassion.

In this course, it’s explored in a modern, accessible way — not as a belief system or spiritual perfection to achieve, but as a living guide for everyday life.

The course is gently shaped by the spirit of the Bodhisattva:
practicing presence not just for ourselves, but for the benefit of all —
those we love, those we struggle with, and the world at large.

“We are all just walking each other home.”
— Ram Dass

Taught by Shey Khandro

For over 35 years, Shey has walked intertwined paths as both artist and spiritual practitioner — including 15 years as a Tibetan Buddhist nun, training with masters in exile.

She is also a professional sculptor, painter, and stupa builder, and a guide for those seeking to live with more presence and peace.

Students are drawn to Shey’s warmth, grounded wisdom, and her ability to make ancient teachings feel accessible and alive. Many speak of a sense of peace simply being in her presence, and appreciate the way she moves through the world — with humor, honesty, and heart.
