Each day for the next 21 days, take time to consciously connect with the stillness that lies within. Use the practice below to put you in touch with a deep sense of peace within your body and your mind.
Before going to sleep set an intention to wake 10 mins early. When you awake in the morning, lay still, allow your attention to rest within your body. Find a comfortable position and do a scan of your physical body, do your best to stay out of your head and just be present for the feelings in your body. Relax, no story, just awareness, letting go of tension.
Take a moment to connect to your breath, you may even wish to lay your hands over your heart. As you breath in give rise to gratitude for this new day. As you breathe out, let go of any tension you find in your body. Let go of any thoughts occupying your conscious awareness. This is not a time to focus on your aches and pains or the worries of the coming day. This is time for you to activate the stillness within. As your body settles, and your breathe finds a natural ease, your mind will follow.
Take 3 fully present, conscious breaths. Fully relaxed, fully present. When you get to three, count backwards for 3 more. Breathing in gratitude, breathing out relaxation, tension released.
As you move through your day, stay present for the thoughts you are entertaining when you feel your best. Recognize when you feel the most peace in your heart.
Put your focus here, give your attention fully to what you wish to see more of and so it will be.
